Lakes are another attraction one should never miss in Bangalore, the erstwhile ruler Kempe Gowda was considered a master planner who had designed Bangalore in such a way that there would be no flooding. With modernization the old plan has become redundant and Bangalore becomes flooded for small rains. Government is taking steps to restore the lakes and bring normalcy to the water flow.

Tourists can visit many lakes in and around Bangalore like Ulsoor Lake, Sankey tank, Madiwala Lake, Lalbagh Lake, Puttenahalli WS, LakeHebbal, LakeAgara Lake, Beniganahalli Lake, Nagavara lake, Bellandur lake, and Hesaragatta Lake. Some lakes are being developed by the Forest Development and will sure provide additional tourist attraction.
