Bangalore has a host of schools catering to the needs of its student community. Some schools are more than a century old, other have a few years of existence. Whatever the age of the school it should serve the purpose – Give good education to its students. Quality education is the need of the day and parents are on the lookout for schools that impart quality education.
Education department has divided Bangalore into two regions namely north and south for the purpose of convenience.
* South part include, Basavanagudi, Chamarajpet, Hanumanthanagar, V V Puram, Shankarapuram, Banashankari, Vijayanagar, Jayanagar, J P nagar, Koramangala, Indiranagar, etc..

Location of schools plays a very major role in selection by students. With 50% of schools located in city another 30% in the residential locations and the final 10% in the outskirts. Almost every school has its own transportation facilities like school vans and buses. The charges range from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000. Other schools charter government or private buses. Many children opt to come to school by bus, autorickshaw or cycle rickshaw.
The infrastructure also plays an important role. Most of the schools have good buildings, libraries and labs, However it is good to check the schools as many of them have all the infrastructure only on paper.
Teaching and faculty are excellent in a number of schools. The teacher/student ratio also plays a major role in teaching. Many schools have very narrow ration making the classes too big for the teachers to handle. Well qualified teachers are very rare and found only in a few schools.
Admissions to the schools are available throughout the year. The strict admission process starts during April and continues upto June. The admission process includes a written test and an oral test for primary school goers. Admission to high school is normally very few and the process if not very rigid.
